Cellar Project

“This will make it bright lads” David said.

Gym area is now workable for two people at once. Rest of the cellar is still to be completed.

Rubber flooring is being laid out in cellar for the gym area. Perfect for cushioning those heavy bars and free weights from any big dents. The cellar is almost complete however a few more renovations are need including partly repositioning the stairs to reroute away from the safety meter, as it is an electrical hazard.

Tony for example is clearing out the shed ready to move the tools into his new cellar work room. Lee another one of our members is practicing and gaining valuable culinary skills.

Cellar Update

The Three Musketeers Graham, Tony and Janice brave harsh weather to prepare the allotment for the coming winter.

During the different Lock down stages Janice, Paul, David, Graham and Tony have work hard to prepare the gym room which is now ready for the flooring to go in.

It is going to have rubber flooring which will be comfortable to exercise on. The gym will have a punching bag, running machine, several free weights, step up machine, other small items for keep fit purposes. Trampoline and hula hoops.

Everyone is looking forward to healthier 2021.

Update in the cellar: all the walls have been PVA’d to seal the brick work and now we are considering a nice warm brick colour to go paint the walls. Accomplished by Dave, Paul and Tony the three musketeers.

To follow the cellars progression take a look at our new “Projects” page highlighted on the top right of the main page.

The men have continued with the cellar, at times it has been  quite a task.  The ceilings had to have two layers of Fire board, following the Fire Risk Assessment.

Update on the cellar we have now got a smoke alarm and emergency lighting, all electrics complete. And now we are able to focus on filling in the cracks with the fire cement.

Cellar progress

3 rooms and double layer fire boards during Covid-19 has been difficult due to changing guidelines but the workers have adapted well and the member have come in to help but only when the guideline have allowed it.

we are progressing slowly towards our goal and will achieve what we have set out to accomplish…

A gym…

A gym…

And a woodwork room.

Teamwork makes a dream work!

Fireproofing for the ceiling following strict building regulations.

Josh: “go get your mask the dust is getting in your eyes”

Dave: “arghh I think its your turn to hold the ladder”

Fire proof ceiling fully fitted and complete, ready for the electrician to finish his part.

Fitting batons ready for the fire boards, volunteer Tony. Here we go, progressing in the cellar, Tony putting on the batons to fit the fireproofing boards on the ceiling. Well done!

Here’s the team, Tony in charge, ready to start progressing with the cellar.

Okay lads take it steady now, cut it straight.

Brought in back up, Janice’s son Simon and grandson Oliver. Doing great, very well organized.
